Perched in the foothills north of Clovis California is a custom home with a green metal roof, built out of blue spruce logs imported from British Columbia. Three 18-wheelers hauled the lumber to Sugarloaf Ranch in 1998. This ranch is in a gated community in Clovis off of Millerton & Auberry Road, southeast of the Table Mountain Casino. Quiet and space is what you'll find at Sugarloaf Ranch. Occasionally, you may hear a "moo" from the cattle grazing on the surrounding areas.

No detail was overlooked in this nearly 5000-square-foot home. Even the first view of the house from the slightly winding front driveway is breathtaking. Sugarloaf Ranch is seated on 1 out of only 4 naturally occurring springs local to the area. This spring flows around the underground wine cellar, keeping it at a constant 58 degrees. Additionally, this spring cascades down a decorative waterfall feature on the North-East side of the cabin through a handmade moat made of Idaho quartzite that encompasses the majority of the cabin. From here, this water is recycled into itself or into the cistern down below which streams consecutively into (2) twenty-foot cattle troughs and ultimately into a 1/4 acre fishing pond down below that supplies the local native wildlife with fresh water.

The heavy front door is made from a slab of a redwood tree more than 2500 years old, that fell over and blocked the Kern River in 1926. A local artist designed and crafted the hinges and hardware. A second artist made the lead glass with redwood trees that sit on each side of the door. Once you walk in, you're immediately greeted by handcrafted hickory dual staircases leading to three vaulted bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the left and there are two guest rooms on the right. There are 3.5 bathrooms in this cabin. Go straight ahead and you'll see a dining area and a large luxurious kitchen made from imported marble countertops. All of the floors and cabinetry are made from solid Hickory. A three-sided fireplace separates the kitchen from the living room with a mini bar. This cabin also has a game room, office, and downstairs poker table room lit by the original stained glass chandelier. This ranch also features an outdoor kitchen, two firepits that are gas powered, 4 industrial grade heat lamps and a 3-person spa/hot tub combo. Every square inch of this dazzling quartzite patio overlooks the rolling hills and a majority of the Table Mountains.
Just a little further down is a walkway that curves down to a bountiful garden with raised beds teaming with various fruits, vegetables as well as an assortment of other native plants. This area is fenced-in and additionally contains fully equipped chicken coops with egg laying non-GMO chickens to complete your homegrown breakfast desire.

Circling back to the front of the house, there is a three car garage with a second floor studio apartment that has a kitchenette, full size bathroom/shower, expansive storage areas, two closets and a wood burning stove. Just beyond the hill is a heated concreted area under an awning for all your star gazing desires. Walk a few more steps up and you'll hit the speakeasy conditioned barn with private bath/shower.

This property has four wells and solar panels that generate enough electricity to power the house four times over. There is additionally a backup generator for emergencies and power outages.
